About the Perspectives Project
I created the perspectives project to see how far I could stretch a simple two-point perspective drawing function. I modified the interactive drawing tool to add the ability to draw simple planes in two-point perspective. I can change the horizon line, vanishing points, and orientation of the plane to draw: ground plane, receding to left vanishing point, receding to right vanishing point.
This is an extremely limited tool, but provides all that I need to plot planes. I generally make no attempt to model solids, but instead line up flat planes sometimes with a common horizon line and vanishing points, but often with different horizon lines and vanishing points juxtaposed in the same space. By depicting multiple horizon lines for a single picture plane in two point perspective I can suggest that there are multiple lines of sight or multiple infinities simultaneously.
The perspective function is based on simple linear equations. All that is required of the program is to calculate two corners of a plane given two opposite corners and a vanishing point.
I have example perspective prints and drawings and paintings in the gallery section.
